Competition History

We're relative newcomers to this motorsport business, having done nothing but drive over the Alps before 2006.  But since then, our involvement has become more and more intense.

Having startled ourselves by our competitiveness in our first event in 2007, run by the Guild of Motor Endurance, we returned for the 2008 Provence to Rome event.   This time we won outright.   We were now completely hooked.

So we decided to try a seriously competitive and far tougher event.   We enlisted for the The Nile Rally, running from Tunisia to Egypt in 2009.   The Elise was hardly the ideal choice, so we went for something much more appropriate, a Mark II Lotus Cortina, affectionately known as Colin.   We were running in a strong 2nd place when the engine let go.   Very disappointing, but it reinforced our addiction.

Next was the London to Casablanca rally of early 2009, where we came first in our class.

By then, we were determined to reach for the biggest, baddest of them all.  No, not Paris-Dakar, which is nuts.   But the Peking to Paris in 2010.

In between these endurance rallies, I've kept my hand in with some track work, achieving a team win in a 6 hour race at Mallory Park.
