Fugly (the Chevy)

The Chevy was acquired in South Africa. It came as a job lot of 3 similar cars, naturally with one very good, one average, and one shocker. After some exchanges of mechanicals, we reduced the number of Chevys to one.

Then it was a matter of giving it some welly to ensure that it would perform under pressure.   This first photo is on the Prescott Hillclimb.

And the final photo is during a Lotus track day ... errh, emm, it rather stood out against the little plastic cars.  The organisers were kind to let me use the day to try out the Chevy, knowing that I had a Lotus Elise and a Lotus Cortina sitting in the shed.

Some of the modifications made to the Chevy were as follows:

Re-wire, endurance fuel tank, engine re-build, bodywork modifications, suspension upgrades, drive-train re-build, bespoke spares storage system, rally meters, GPS mounting, bespoke exhaust.....
